However, you'll not be able to fast forward through them and you'll have to listen to the announcement before the clip. This is all in an effort to ban stream rippers. Today I banned 3 network addresses that I found ripping the archive streams. If you are included in one of these addresses, you will not be able to connect to the archives anymore.
Why is our policy against stream rippers so drastic? Because stream rippers connect to the server up to the capacity of the pub point and thereby deny legitimate listeners these resources. Also, stream rippers use maximum buffering so as to increase their download speeds thereby taking up bandwidth allocated for the live streams and other accounts on the server.
In the next few weeks, we will have an automated process whereby stream rippers will be banned automatically from the live archives. We may, at that time, decide to make the clips fast fowardable.
If you need or want to download the archives clips
please sign up for our download service @ 10.99 a month. This service is available on a separate FTP server and available at all time regardless of media server usage. Additionally, in a few weeks our download service will offer MP3 and up to a month's worth of archives shows at no additional cost. Details to follow shortly.
