Short Bio & Info:

Bugnhard aka Alfredo Acosta was a dj in the 70′s throwing house parties in empty apartments and in parks spinning with his high school friend Cyberjamz own DJ FM in the height of the disco era in the Fordham section of the Bronx. He also worked at an after hour bar with no name on 161st Street & Melrose Ave in the Morrisania Section of the Bronx from 12am-8am. other times he was in the clubs of Manhattan always trying to find the latest tracks played in the clubs.

No Shazam back in those days. He loves the craft of djing til this day. His first inspriations are Jellybean Benitez and Grandmaster Flash & those who played on NYC radio station WBLS (107.5 FM) in the early 70′s..

Bio and info

Music Style: Jazzy House/Housey Jazz. I?ve been collecting records since I was about 12 and was inspired by the likes of Mastermind, Rapattack, Les Adams and Froggy, who all mixed in such a way that just blew me away and got me hooked on underground dance music. I started mixing by using a tape deck and a belt drive turntable and learnt to mix and scratch my tunes like that, by pushing the tape and phono buttons in at the same time. This is something I do not recommend, as I had to get my Dad?s amp repaired far too many times. I got to try out my new found skills at the tender young of 13, when I was at one of my elder sister?s friend?s party and the Dj had to go home and get another crate of records. He said to me, ?It?s all yours, shouldn?t be too long?.? After playing for a about three hours, I realised I could do the things my idols did and the things I did at home very easily with two turntables and I could also make people dance. I?d got the bug!

Since then I have played at many events world wide watching the scene change, being part of the original house explosion in the UK, playing at the groundbreaking raves like Sunrise, Energy and Biology to name but a few. The music I play now is heavily influenced by jazz, something that I put down to the music I was fed by my parents as a young child, the likes of Grover Washington, Stanley Turentine, Dizzy, James Brown, Quincy Jones, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and also soca, reggae, hi life, funk and soul and disco, an eclectic mix of black music to whet any young boys appetite for music. I currently present ?A Nu Breed Of Jazz? on PushFm each and every Friday 20.00 ? 22.00 GMT. Am also currently reworking many of the tunes I have produced over the years.

Cyberjamz Radio is just about to wrap up our Summer Slam Music Series of which has been awesome this year.We will still be featuring mixes through the month of September until the end of October 2015.

Bio & Info:

My name is Lennie Penceal and i?ve been in this music game since 1980, playing R&B, Hip Hop and of course Club music and Club Classics.
I was first introduced to this music in 1980 when a couple of my friends brought me to Club Zanzibar in Newark, New Jersey. I don?t believe Tony Humphries was there yet. I was listening to the Ted Patterson and the late Tee Scott. The Richard Long sound system had me a little afraid to go in at first, but i did and i had a great time.

The following week they took me to the Paradise Garage (Larry Levan) and between the two I was hooked on the music that I heard there.
In late 1983 or 1984 I was introduced by a co-worker to Tony Humphries by phone, after he had taken one of my mix tapes to him. Tony liked it and asked me to do something for him, whatever i wanted to play. After Tony listened to that mix he really liked it and we exchanged phone numbers. About 3 weeks later I happened to call him just to see how he was doing and he said he was glad that I called because he had be looking for my number and he asked me if I could do 3 hours for him on 98.7 Kiss-FM. Of course I said yes and things kinda took off from there. I ended up doing more guest shows for him as well as Jay ?mix?in? Dixon.

I have played many clubs and halls working the mobile dj set. I also played a couple of the early parties for the Underground Network/ Barbra Tucker & DJ Don Welch at Club Savage, this was before super producer and Dj Louie Vega took the helm at the Sound Factory Bar.

Finally, (2015) I get to now work my passion full time.
