Strictly Beatdown is a label forged out of Detroit with the goal of bringing the modern sound of Detroit to the world. Using the talents of Detroit musicians, artists, singers, and producers,
Strictly Beatdown showcases the best of the soul that grooved the world.
Founder Mike Clark, a native Detroiter, has been making hit records since the late 80's. He has been an instrumental member of such major dance labels as UR, Happy, Nite Groove, Planet E, and Third Ear to name a few. He has worked on labels such as GotSoul, Great Lakes, (bio at http://www.beatdownsounds.net).
Founded by Detroit’s legendary house music DJ and producer, Mike “Agent X” Clark, Strictly Beatdown is the outgrowth of the body of production yet to be released from the brothers and sisters known over the past ten years or more to have performed and produced together as BeatDownSounds, among many other pseudonyms.
“Within the past several years, I've worked with Third Ear, putting out Beatdown compilations and remixes of those compilations. With the success of the collaborations, the Strictly Beatdown label was in the making but was put off with the advent of the new digital download age. Now it’s up, ready and available on Beatport.com.
Clark’s intention is to license as many soulful, contemporary dance and lounge tracks from his vast and diverse bank of talented singers, musicians, and producers native to his hometown of Motown. 2007 will mark the official launch of this project, Strictly Beatdown.

Strictly Beatdown starts off with a bang with its smashing unreleased series featuring artists such as Jackie Green, Genvieve, and the WestSide Kings now available on Houseadelic at www.beatport.com.The label also welcomes the edition of the WestSide Kings' production team, (Funkmaster Scott and dance industry heavyweight Miguel Plasentia) to the Strictly Beatdown family. With this creative edition, the label is poised to be the new heavyweight in the underground dance music industry.
Strictly Beatdown Records announces the licensing of its debut release, “You Know How I Feel” featuring Kym Wright, to London-based soulful dance music powerhouse, Soul Heaven, for Soul Heaven’s forthcoming mid-November compilation.
"Strictly Beatdown, simply banging the best sounds around

Riverside

( Fast FWD ) www.fastfwd.md www.myspace.com/fastfwd
Born in Washington D.C., Riverside ’s early influences were Rare Groove, Fusion, as well as Deep House from New York , Chicago , and Detroit. In the mid-90’s, this eager newcomer would make weekly visits to New York City’s Soho, and Mid-town, to listen to Qool DJ Marv, who was a household name in the Village. After listening to his style of music selection, mixing, and amazing ability to move the crowd, Riverside decided it was time to tap into his soul and do what came naturally, DJ. Listening and playing different styles of music from all around the world, Riverside began to lean towards the broken beat sounds from West London.
In 1999, he heard Neon Phusion “Future Aint, the Same as it used 2Be”, and it would prove to be the turning point in his young career. When asked, Riverside attributes his unique style of mixing to DJ’s like Orin Walters (Afronaught), Seiji, Philly’s own Argo, from Broken Beat Radio. “These guys inspired me to mix, and helped me develop my style of rhythm and soulful sounds,” says Riverside .
In 2004 after relocating to Orlando, Florida, Riverside co-founded the DJ collective FastFWD with Myrna and Mr. Marley. This crew threw gigs bringing top DJs and artists from the Broken Beat and Deep House culture. Over the next several years, he played at a number of establishments around his new home as well as various places along the East coast. He has opened up for acts such as Jeremy Ellis, John Arnold, and mixed along side the likes of, JustOne, Kai Alce, QBurns Abstract Message, and Julius “The Mad Thinker.”
In the winter of 2007, Riverside transformed FastFWD into an official record label with the help of Sandman and Chairman Hao. This newly developed label concentrates on original, deep, broken, Afro-Latin influenced rhythms, as well as deep soulful house. Riverside has recently been busy in the studio producing tunes and remix projects for the new label.
In the summer of 2007, he was inducted into JHI, a deep house collective run and founded by Jay Oliva.
