Your masterminds on the wheels of steel for this evening will be J.H.I. residents... Ian Lee, Marshall Jones, Quest-One, Riverside, and Rob Slac!

DJ LINE UP:

Ian Lee (Soulidified Music / J.H.I.)

Ian Lee, known for his tight blends and excellent selection of House Music, has been in the House Scene for 10 years. After a couple of years of the here and there gigs, he started a residency called Treehouse in Melbourne Florida on Friday and Saturday. It was there he had learned more on taking the crowds on a mental musical landscape. But what really crafted Ian Lee into a DJ was the meeting of minds between him and DJ friend Alexx Horizon, who served as a mentor for Ian. He helped Ian in further developing his style and skill. Playing a range of sounds from Soulful house, Afro house to raw House tracks, Ian looks forward to this year and what the future will bring for House Music in Orlando!

Marshall Jones (Large Music Rep. / Soulidified Music / Soul Selection / J.H.I.)

Marshall Jones started out in the scene in mid 1999. Just like a lot of people who are inspired by the scene, Marshall was all about dancing and enjoying the nightlife. He immediately thirsts for the knowledge on DJing and sought out for answers. Through this, he landed in the guidance of Hotwax Harley and the Radiance crew. at the age of 19, Marshall bought records, sat down with his crew and took in the teachings and art of DJing. From the education of Hotwax Harley, DJ Slipstream, A.D. and the rest of the family, he started molding himself into something he calls "Chunky but Funky". Between 2000 and 2002, Marshall played anywhere he could. From the NC, VA, to SC. Then in 2003 he transported himself to Orlando, FL. While living out his time here in Orlando, he has managed to become successful working for Large Music out of Chicago as a Director of Media Promotions, helped in creating a group called Brownsville, also being a new member of Soul Selection music, meeting with Ian Lee to create Soulidified Music, and of course being a member of J.H.I.

Quest-One (Soul Elevation Music / J.H.I.)

Dana S. Hudson, AKA Quest-One, hails from Bristol, Connecticut (outside of Hartford). A Producer/DJ with many years of experience in the music and nightclub industry, founded QUEST-ONE ENTERTAINMENT in 1990. In 1996, played major night clubs throughout the Central Florida area. In association with QUEST-ONE ENTERTAINMENT in the year 2000 established SOUL ELEVATION, a DJ collective which specializes in New York and Chicago deep house music. His style of mixing is soulful and deep. His "Soul Elevation" movement has taken him to places such as Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Newark and Miami. Some of his early deejay influences are: Shep Pettibone, Tony Humphries, Kenny Carpenter, Timmy Regisford, "Little" Louie Vega, Todd Terry And Larry Levan to name a few.
Riverside (FastFWD / J.H.I. )

Born in Washington D.C., Riverside ’s early influences were Rare Groove, Fusion, as well as Deep House from New York , Chicago , and Detroit. In the mid-90’s, this eager newcomer would make weekly visits to New York City’s Soho, and Mid-town, to listen to Qool DJ Marv, who was a household name in the Village. After listening to his style of music selection, mixing, and amazing ability to move the crowd, Riverside decided it was time to tap into his soul and do what came naturally, DJ. In 1999, he heard Neon Phusion “Future Aint, the Same as it used 2Be”, and it would prove to be the turning point in his young career. In 2004 after relocating to Orlando, Florida, Riverside co-founded the DJ collective FastFWD with Myrna and Mr. Marley. Over the next several years, he played at a number of establishments around his new home as well as various places along the East coast. He has opened up for acts such as Jeremy Ellis, John Arnold, and mixed along side the likes of, JustOne, Kai Alce, QBurns Abstract Message, and Julius “The Mad Thinker.” In the winter of 2007, Riverside transformed FastFWD into an official record label with the help of Sandman and Chairman Hao. This newly developed label concentrates on original, deep, broken, Afro-Latin influenced rhythms, as well as deep soulful house. Riverside has recently been busy in the studio producing tunes and remix projects for the new label.
In the summer of 2007!

Rob Slac (Chillin Music / J.H.I.)

Rob Slac was first introduced to electronic music in 1991. He started collaborating with one of the leading producers in Florida, Jeff Paymaster (Rainbow Bridge), focusing on a trip-hop & funky break style beat that influenced his passion for studying music. In 1996 Rob started hitting the local DJ scene, playing in bars and clubs in Orlando and participating in several warehouse Rave’s in Daytona Beach. Over the next few years, Rob’s experience in the music business played a key role in his evolutionary definement of what a true "natural house style" of music meant to him and his audience. After several trips to Germany and experiencing the diverse sound structures of their musical components, Slac was able to take this influence and incorporate it throughout the South Florida area. In effect, Germany’s house scene helped define his vision of musical excellence. Rob has also been busy in the studio designing up some new tunes and working with other producers in the industry. Focused on developing a funky twist yet clean atmosphere, Rob hopes his audience will vibe with his unique message. Chillin Music (headed up by Slac) is dedicated to producing quality, funked out house music. With several releases out and many more to come, Chillin Music will continue to contribute to the importance of the electronic music community.

This party will be a nice kick off to the new year. Plus it will be at the venue known for hot beats and hot fried pickles...Crooked Bayou!
