Picks of the Week

Soul Oasis presents DJ Aakmael "Darker Moments EP" (CyberJamz Records CD Promo)
Now this is what we call serious deepness!! DJ Aakmael's "Darker Moments EP" (the follow up to his "Deeper Moments EP") takes you on a journey into deep house as it is not heard often these days, with "Afrosohl" being a wonderful vocal production featuring outstanding vocals by Rob Clark alongside jazzy keys and lush synths over a deep yet smoothly rumblin' groove. The dub drops the vocal to let the keys and synths create a captivating deep house vibe. Both "I dunno" and "13th mood" are heavily influenced by the unmistakable and legendary Detroit house sound, with the deep resistless grooves coupled with mesmerizing keys and synths creating a hypnotic feeling.

Nice Review on Fast Vision Soul..

Soul Oasis pres Fast Vision Soul - “House Freestyle” [Cyberjamz]

There are two tracks on this release which are both deep laid back offerings and what I would describe as mood building music. It might seem clichéd when I write about labels pushing the envelope, but Cyberjamz does just that with just about every release. You’re not going to find music to a formula that’s set to rock the floor in the cheesy disco uptown or downtown. The music is lovingly crafted for people who understand house and who recognise quality when they hear it. In terms of the tracks themselves, “Me vs. The Music” and “Y O Ba Bu” are seriously deep synth driven numbers with the latter possessing a floor shaker of a bassline.

DJ Aakmael - Darker Moments EP [Cyberjamz]

Following on from the excellent “Deeper Moments EP”, DJ Aamael delivers another four highly desirable tracks to tickle your musical taste buds. “13th Mood” is a deep number with melodic keys and a rumbling bassline that will, at the very least get your toes tapping. “I Dunno” has a combination of percussion and sub bass that will get your ass wiggling, even if you’re sitting down while the tender keys and strings will lift even the darkest of moods. “Afrosohl” is provided in “Aakmixx” and “Aakdubb” with and without vocal. It features amongst other things chord exchanges which remind me of early 90s MAW, albeit much mellower. Very tasty indeed!!

The following Reviews were posted by our NuBang Clan brother Dj Sinister.Thank u sir for taking the time.
The standout cut on this EP by Italian producer Andrea "Tamashi" Garibaldi is by far the jazz-tinged, ultra slick, guitar-laden "Deep In You", which will surely fire up a hungry crowd. The talented guitar soloist who sprinkles this tasty dish, is Mauro Rosati. Smokin joint! For those itching for a tougher sound, you can also serve up "Zodiac" and "Chicago's Warehouse".

One of my favourite producers who has been trailblazing a solid path for a minute, is none other than DJ AAKMAEL. Having already released a plethora of joints for Unified Records (including an LP), as well as for CJ Records, Manuscript and Bumpin City, Aak now delivers his successful sophomore release for CJ.
This 4-cut EP is bang for ya buck, as Aak delivers a foursome of 8-minute journeys, all of which are characterised by Aakmael's signature thumping beats and monster basslines. Aakmael truly sets the record straight with these gorgeous, yet bad ass, musical expressions, which include "13th Mood", "I Dunno", and the wonderful song "Afrosolh" featuring the vocals of Robb Clark. If you're into Larry Heard, Glenn Underground, Chris Gray and Wayne Gardiner, then this has your name written all over it! For serious Deep House fans!

Fast Vision Soul comes hard through the gates with this two-track instrumental EP, leading the way with "Me vs. The Music", a stomping, esoteric, deep space workout which sounds phenomenal in the mix. The light-hearted "Y O Ba Bu" drifts into sonic dreamscapes, aiming to warm up the dancefloor and ease your mind. Solid release on this (already) the 19th release for Cyberjamz Records.

3 Ways to Lose my Love(Soul Oasis feat.Wincie)

Exclusive Preview: Soul Oasis featuring Wincie "3 ways to lose my love" (CyberJamz Records CD Promo)
CyberJamz Records continue to impress us with their latest release, keeping things reel and deep, making no compromises. "3 ways to lose my love" by Wincie is a truly deep production featuring an outstanding vocal performance, with the 'Sensei Style Mix' being a melodic soulful featuring beautiful keys and chords over a mellow groove. The 'Tim McAllister Mix' keeps the vibe deep and soulful while giving the track a groovier outfit. Lastly the 'Jakdat Dub' deepens things and gives the track a rougher edge.

Soul Oasis ft Wincie - 3 Ways To Lose My Love [Cyberjamz]
The latest release from Cyberjamz is another deep number with mixes from Sensei, Tim McCallister and Jaysun. The vocals are difficult if not impossible to ignore and the seriously deep production is edgy yet melodic. For casual listening the most accessible mix comes from Tim McCallister who delivers a smooth version which I find most refreshing. The “Jakdat Dub” has been built with the dance-floor firmly in mind with driving percussion and a more energetic feel throughout. Sensei delivers a haunting version with a deeper synth arrangement for a more eclectic vibe.

Cyberjamz Records sent us this promo that comes with 2 vocal mixes and a dub.
The Sensei Style Mix and Jakdat dub have a real 90's feel to them, with some serious drum programming. I really like the dub, it's got a lovely hook of a keyboard that is reminiscent of Korg M1 on a diet!
But for me, the mix of this package is without a doubt the Tim McCallister mix. This starts off slightly leftfield, with tablas and madly sequenced hats, but builds up with a normal off beat open
hat before the hugely melodical voice of Wincie kicks in drawing the rest of the track out with her.
It's a lovely piece of music, with a chorus a reformed drug addict would roll up and smoke!
Great release, with the Tim McAllister mix leading the way!

Soul Oasis presents DJ Buzzard - From The Lair Vol 1 [Cyberjamz]

This latest release from Cyberjamz is an EP from DJ Buzzard that contains three distinct grooves that should all get a positive reaction from the floor. “Samba Caca” is full of Brazilian rhythms and chants but is otherwise quite sparse in style. “Smoking Hot Buzz” drops some mellow rhodes chords from an old Harley & Muscle production and adds tribal beats that make it really tough to stand still. Last up is “Hot Weld” which is the funkiest of the three with a deep jackin’ West Coast vibe. Nice!!!

Soul Oasis ft Weysa Dya - Connected Minds [Cyberjamz]

This is a superb deep house offering with a spoken word vocal from Weysa Dya. From a personal perspective it hit’s the spot rather nicely with both the production and vocals proving highly effective. The basic groove is uncomplicated but some of the synths and effects add a hint of the eclectic. Anyone who looks out for Sole Channel’s releases would be well advised to check this one out and of course fans of the Cyberjamz label will need little convincing.
