This trio remix project by Exemplary Music Makerz is a sterling underground dance tribute to the Godfather of Soul, James Brown. A follow up to the chart-topping mix of It's a Man's World by Giovanni Ikome and Frank Foncett. Exemplary Music Makerz expands on its previous release with this reinvention of the classic by three individual producers.
The release features a deep house mix by Lea (Leanna Yip), a dark fusion of deep beats and rich multi-layered synth chords unified with the gritty vocals and funk instrumentation of Brown's live recording. Muzikman Edition delivers a serious four to the floor energetic creation that fuses elements of classic funk with the sounds of garage house classics of the late 80s. The dub mix by Sahib Muhammad is a lean and moving percussive cut with a fresh and eclectic sensibility.
For nearly 7 years, Exemplary Music Makerz has developed its imprint with a solid collection of floor shaking house music releases. This latest nod to the Godfather of Soul delivers all you need to ignite any deep, classic, soulful, jacking, tribal or afro set

Lea - Lea is a Canadian Brooklyn-based house music artist/producer, soul gospel vocalist, and classical multi-instrumentalist. Trained in classical and gospel music genres yet schooled in the international dance music community for over a decade, Lea's artistry lies in the creation of soulful and seductive deep house landscapes. She is truly gifted as a producer, and an aspiring DJ.

Muzikman Edition - Muzikman Edition hails from East New York, Brooklyn and started experimenting with turntablism in 1986. His love of the art led to the introduction of DJ 3D to the NYC music scene bringing a unique style combining house, hip-hop, rare groove, and R&B classics. DJ 3D is the resident DJ on WBAI's Underground Railroad, NYC's longest running underground hip hop show, where he's been cutting and scratching for over two decades. Through DJ 3D's love of house music and collaboration with Kenny Dope, Muzikman Edition was born.

Sahib Muhammad - DJ Sahib Muhammad was born and raised in Newark, NJ. He has been a club DJ since his teens. His influences include Tony Humphries at Zanzibar, Tee Scott, Merlin Boggs and of course Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage.
