Phil Kamp

Phil Kamp was born 1981 in Munich/Germany. His passion for music started in the early 90´s. His brother Tobi Kamp owned one of the first Hip Hop Culture Clothing Shop's in Germany and received promotion mix tapes from iincredible DJ's like DJ Premiere, Tony Touch, Marley Marl, Funk Master Flex and many others. He was so impressed when he saw his first DJ spinning, scratching and juggling 2 or 3 Turntables nearly the same time. This became his motivation. After 5 year's of learning Hip Hop, Rap & Soul, Phil is living his passion as a local DJ playing across Germany and extravagant fashion clubs in Italy. By the age of 19, he was playing for the one and only Hip Hop radio station in Munich. In 1997, Phil found his love and sanctuary for a different style of dance music, which is still being introduced in Germany … something called "House Music". People who work in the Rap and Soul industry, like DJ Spinna, Vikter Duplaix, King Britt, Jazzy Jeff, Kenny Dope and Terry Hunter began to produce, remix and spin House Music too. He felt the passion and saw how people were celebrating life together on the dance floor when some of our mentors were playing across Europe, like Kenny Dope Gonzales, Joe Claussell, David Morales or Ron Carrol, but most of all from Louie Vega. During the years, Phil and his brother started a booking agency for deep & soulful house artists where he has played along side Franck Roger, Mr. V, Tyrone Francis, Tyree Cooper and many more. Phil has become a young protégé of deep soulful house music in Germany. It is a hard to catch the people in our country with soulful vibes, but if someone can educate the peepz one day – Phil´blackstar`Kamp will be the one. To the future of underground dance music in Europe …

In April / May 2007 Phil´blackstar`Kamp will host the – Mr.V ´Welcome Home` Album Release Club-Tour across 8 German cities.

Alim ( Brownsville http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...5-f89fca34cd7e )

Toronto born, I was raised on soul, funk, and pop, and bollywood indian music, till I was introduced by my cousin, to proper house music mix tapes from New York, where house came from in the late 80s.

My family moved to Orlando where I went to high school, and then got the opportunity to go to University in Miami. I lived in Miami through the 90s and got to experience many great DJs and parties, Louie Vega, Tony Humphries, Harry Choo-Choo Romero, Eric Morrillo, Todd Terry, Danny Tenaglia, Dimitri From Paris, Lord G, DJ Red Alert, Kid Capri, and more, then I met DJ Stingray, A.K.A Ray Sabater who was just barely breaking into the Miami scene after moving down from New York. He tought me how to mix, play crowds, and have fun, DJ-ing.

Then I moved to Orlando, which turned me into a bit of a recluse. In '99 a new friend, Kenyan and I convinced ourselves to throw our own parties, instead of bitching about all the other ones in Orlando. The parties were called "Sessions At Sapphire, and they went well, Thanks to Shanghai Boutique, Lisa owner- Lambs Eat Ivey, and Modelscout, it was a lot of fun, until Kenyan moved on to New York, to pursue a career in the fashion industry.

Musically, not much took place since then took place for me. The internet, my bedroom DJ-rig, and runs to Miami to hear the DJ's and buy records, kept me afloat, until in '06, my brother Adil introduced me to some friends of his, who turned out to be Brownsville. Brownsville is a truly talented bunch of guys that invited me to come out and play with them once or twice. We seemed to work really well together and they brought me into their group. Since then I've had the opportunity to play out occasionally, and enjoy the new scene that seems to be emerging. Thanks to my Brother Adil, Brownsville, and Hoochie Productions, house music is becoming a reality in Orlando – I can't wait to see what comes next.
