Yavahn made her mark in the early 90s as singer/songwriter on the Big Beat/Atlantic Record label with the famed trio, Jomanda. With hits like Make My Body Rock and Got a Love for You, Jomanda became a staple for the underground dance music scene. In 1996, Ruffneck with Yavahn returned to the scene on Little Louie Vega's and Kenny Dope Gonzalez MAW Record label with the International smash, Everybody Be Somebody, produced by Backroom Productions.
