Inspired by such legendary underground parties from the past as The Gallery and the original Sound Factory, veteran DJ Billy Carroll
launched a monthly after-hours party called dIRTY bEATS back in September 2006 at club LOVE that reintroduced the concept of "no drama, just music and pure fun", back into New York City's dwindling after-hours dance scene. The party has since evolved into a movement of sorts that Carroll has taken on the road, introducing the carefree vibe and eclectic house music that are the bedrock of dIRTY bEATS to new audiences in other cities. Now, as the venerable DJ who's logged more than 30 years behind the decks -- and played practically every major venue in New York and around the world (Paradise Garage, Studio 54, Roxy, Palladium, Twilo, Ministry of Sound, The Week, Limelight & Tunnel, to name a few) -- prepares to pass the torch, he'd like to introduce you to some of his favorite aspiring writers, producers, remixers and DJs on this, his first organic collection of fully-licensed tracks, aptly entitled dIRTY bEATS. After three decades in the business, this CD takes Carroll full-circle, representing the culmination of his vast musical repertoire and eternal love for the dance floor while introducing his faithful fans to a new wave of rising stars who promise to keep the beats dirtier than ever and uninterrupted for years to come.
