Exclusive Preview: Rasmir "Trees in the Forest" (Mantree Records)
The latest release from Rasmir is truly versatile, with the title track featuring jazzy horns alongside spoken words and a lovely guitar over a funk soaked afro tinged backing. "Behind the glass" has an old school feel to it, letting the laidback percussion fueled groove, classy horns and melodic keys and chords create an uplifting feel. "La flamingo" is all about the flamenco guitar and jazzy piano nicely arranged over a smooth tribal groove. "Rasmirism Rev, Ras" is a percussive monster jam loaded with spoken words and way-out synths. "Remember dat" relaxes the vibe for sexy spoken words, gentle guitars and a deep percussion enriched backing.
