Blurred Lines - the Controversy

When is a track actually your track? Through all the compositions in the world. If your track sounds anything like another track which is out there, can you have legal action taken against you?

I for one think this area is very grey indeed. There are millions of songs out there which sound similar. Do people have the right to sue if they feel it sounds similar to there sound? I feel, they do and they don't. It all depends on the similarities in composition, arrangement, instruments used...etc.

it IS Got to give it up..lol . no attempt was made to mask it.. same goes for ALL these songs that have that 80's - 90's feel to it.. like DAFT PUNKS piece which was also a summer hit.

This wont stop the slew of pieces coming soon that all have that Chic bass-line and other elements. If this was an underground/deep house or house track (genre)

#1 it wouldnt be played as much as it's being played on regular radio

#2 it wouldn've of made the money it has made .. This cut has made serious $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ .. so it's worth goin for the law suit.

I like the track alot and it's a fun piece no matter where or when it's played ! There are some very nice House Remixes out there of Blurred Lines and I wonder if they will also get sued.
