CyberJamz continue to put out slammin' releases that will take over dance floors by storm, with DJ Aakmael's "Deepermoments EP" being no exception. The title track is a deeply rumblin' affair featuring wicked synths that together with the sweet percussion create a hypnotic feeling, while "Equinox" is a deeply thumpin' track featuring a jazzy piano alongside a lovely chords. "Breathe deep" features a sensual vocal by Eric 'Esquire' Jones over a smooth, deeper than deep groove that is enriched with wonderful melodic chords and keys. This track comes in two equally great variations to choose from. |

If you’re familiar with the phrase that starts “When in Rome…” you’ll understand that label owner Sammy Rock tends to tackle his reviews with a glass or two of vino. How appropriate then that I’ve just cracked open one of my favourite reds as I pen a few words to describe Cyberjamz eight release. Featuring three tracks, this is another beautifully crafted EP of mellow grooves for those who understand that house music isn’t all about filling the floor in the main room of a super club. “Deeper Moments“ is built on a platform of chords that almost clash but don’t with nagging beats that‘ll have you tapping your toes before you know it. “Equinox” has some breathtaking keys which are blended with haunting strings. “Breathe Deep” is another smooth jam with a soulful vocal and melodic but understated keys. Soul Oasis pres Beppe Gioia - Untitled Fantasy [Cyberjamz] Following hot on the heels of his excellent release on Sofitone, Beppe Gioia is back this time with a this track for Sammy Rock’s Cyberjamz label. It’s beautifully constructed with no single element of the production dominating. Kicking off with the “Main Fantasy Mix”: the beats and bass will get those feet moving while the lush string arrangement, flutes and keys provide some relief from life’s daily stresses. There are some vocals in there too but you’ll need to listen carefully to catch them. The “Fantasy Deep Dub” is a deep atmospheric take, dampening down the keys and using them more sparingly but adding some female vocals including what sounds like a railway station announcement towards the end. Soul Oasis pres Cloud 9 - The Awakening EP [Cyberjamz]
If I’ve learned one thing recently when it comes to Cyberjamz releases, it’s simply to expect the unexpected. There’s a lot of people out there who complain about house music being tired and boring, or not pushing the envelope. This label defies conventions and brings something different, experimental, retro or new to the table with every release. “Awakening The World” combines throbbing basslines with 80s style synths to create a funky ass jam that’s enjoyable on all fronts. “Ajanya Grooves Me” is a dark, almost techy affair with striking synths and tough electronic bass. “Banging On Clouds Beat” continues the dark moody theme while “Mafumbae Dance” combines compelling rhythms and melodic organs. My pick of the tracks is “Awakening The World” which I just can’t get out of my head. |

DJN Project - Wheels of Love [Cyberjamz]
I’ve always felt that r’n’b and house work well together and this pretty much demonstrates the point. The production is deep and smooth and the r’n’b style vocals from Rick Galactic are delivered impeccably and with feeling. I prefer the “Nef Nunez Mix” to the “Original” as it’s slightly less busy, although the general vibe doesn’t change that much. For those who like their music without vocals the “Nef Nunez Instrumental” is a soothing alternative. |
Soul Oasis pres Paul G - Apt #3A EP [Cyberjamz]
The EP contains four tracks on the lighter side of deep. My favourites are the title track with its percussion that sounds like a steam train chugging along and “Sambalism Part 2” with its breezy chords and jazzy beats. “Motion Sickness” is a bit punchier with driving rhythms and old school organs. Lastly, “The Spaniard” treads a deep techy path courtsey of some haunting synths and Spanish guitar. |

Salvatore Agrosi - Elsewhere EP [Cyberjamz]
Cyberjamz bring you two more deep tracks that keep you on your toes from the opening beats right through until the end. “The Fate” gets underway with crisp enticing beats that provide the backdrop to the lovely chords which arrive shortly after. Soul Oasis pres Fast Vision Soul - “House Freestyle” [Cyberjamz] There are two tracks on this release which are both deep laid back offerings and what I would describe as mood building music. It might seem clichéd when I write about labels pushing the envelope, but Cyberjamz does just that with just about every release. You’re not going to find music to a formula that’s set to rock the floor in the cheesy disco uptown or downtown. The music is lovingly crafted for people who understand house and who recognise quality when they hear it. Following on from the excellent “Deeper Moments EP”, DJ Aamael delivers another four highly desirable tracks to tickle your musical taste buds. “13th Mood” is a deep number with melodic keys and a rumbling bassline that will, at the very least get your toes tapping. “I Dunno” has a combination of percussion and sub bass that will get your ass wiggling, even if you’re sitting down while the tender keys and strings will lift even the darkest of moods. “Afrosohl” is provided in “Aakmixx” and “Aakdubb” with and without vocal. It features amongst other things chord exchanges which remind me of early 90s MAW, albeit much mellower. The standout cut on this EP by Italian producer Andrea "Tamashi" Garibaldi is by far the jazz-tinged, ultra slick, guitar-laden "Deep In You", which will surely fire up a hungry crowd. Cyberjamz Records sent us this promo that comes with 2 vocal mixes and a dub.
The Sensei Style Mix and Jakdat dub have a real 90's feel to them, with some serious drum programming. I really like the dub, it's got a lovely hook of a keyboard that is reminiscent of Korg M1 on a diet! But for me, the mix of this package is without a doubt the Tim McCallister mix. This starts off slightly leftfield, with tablas and madly sequenced hats, but builds up with a normal off beat open hat before the hugely melodical voice of Wincie kicks in drawing the rest of the track out with her. It's a lovely piece of music, with a chorus a reformed drug addict would roll up and smoke! Great release, with the Tim McAllister mix leading the way! This latest release from Cyberjamz is an EP from DJ Buzzard that contains three distinct grooves that should all get a positive reaction from the floor. “Samba Caca” is full of Brazilian rhythms and chants but is otherwise quite sparse in style. “Smoking Hot Buzz” drops some mellow rhodes chords from an old Harley & Muscle production and adds tribal beats that make it really tough to stand still. Last up is “Hot Weld” which is the funkiest of the three with a deep jackin’ West Coast vibe. Nice!!! Soul Oasis ft Weysa Dya - Connected Minds [Cyberjamz] This is a superb deep house offering with a spoken word vocal from Weysa Dya. From a personal perspective it hit’s the spot rather nicely with both the production and vocals proving highly effective. The basic groove is uncomplicated but some of the synths and effects add a hint of the eclectic.
