When the sun shines, it's instinctive to reach for more soulful fare. House records rarely come more soulful than this sublime offering from Kai Alce's NDATL Muzik imprint. The esteemed deep house producer does a brilliant job with Miranda Nicole's "Dance Like You've Been Here", putting the singer's sumptuous vocal at the heart of his yearning, sun-baked mix. The drums - particularly the relentless drum machine handclaps - are energetic and upbeat, but brilliantly countered by the kind of lazy, half-stoned chords that seemingly drift from the speakers. DJ Beloved goes a bit more up-tempo on his rework, brilliantly utilizing some upbeat, Latin-tinged beats and subtle clavinet stabs.
